Introduction
If you love biking and beautiful scenery, Albuquerque’s Bosque Trail is a must-ride. This 16-mile paved trail takes you through the heart of the city’s cottonwood forest, providing stunning views of the Sandia Mountains and the Rio Grande River.
The Ride
Start your ride at Alameda Open Space and follow the trail south towards Tingley Beach. From there, continue along the river and enjoy the peacefulness of the forest. Stop at one of the many picnic areas for a snack or take a break to watch the wildlife. The trail is also popular for bird watching, so keep an eye out for egrets, herons and bald eagles.
End your ride at Rio Bravo Boulevard and take a shuttle back to your starting point.
What to Bring
Make sure to bring plenty of water, sunscreen and snacks. The trail is mostly flat, making it a great ride for all skill levels. And don’t forget to bring your camera – you won’t want to miss the stunning views.
